Albertson's, NASCAR
(West Point, MS)
2 Brothers BBQ Sauce and Seasoning will be
soon be available in even more locations through
out the Southern U.S. Albertson's, the third
largest grocery retail chain in the nation,
will be carrying the products in stores that
are serviced by its Dallas/Ft. Worth Distribution
Center. Albertson's owns over 2,500 stores in
38 states.
"We are very excited to be joining Albertson's,"
stated Mike Reilly, 2 Brothers President. "Albertson's
is one of the largest grocery chains in the
nation. This will allow a brand new base of
customers to be able to experience the flavor
and versatility of 2 Brothers products. We believe
in building our brand the old fashioned way--one
store at a time. 2 Brothers is proud to a part
of the Albertson's tradition."
The Albertson's news comes at an already exciting
time for the West Point-based 2 Brothers, the
official sauce of NASCAR. Reilly and 2 Brothers
co-founder and Executive Vice President Wilkes
Bryan recently returned from Pocono, PA where
2 Brothers participated in the festivities surrounding
the Nextel Pennsylvania 500. While in Pocono,
the 2 Brothers Experience joined NASCAR Chef
Mario Batali in preparing an old-fashioned BBQ
for both the drivers and owners. In an effort
to target the most loyal sports fans, 2 Brothers
has teamed up with NASCAR to promote their brand.
"NASCAR is the second largest spectator
sport in the country. It is also has the most
dedicated barbeque and tailgating scene of any
sport. 2 Brothers plans to be a part of this
tailgating scene in future races. In Pocono,
we collaborated with Iron Chef Mario Batali,
who is also the NASCAR Chef. Mario is currently
writing a NASCAR cookbook and 2 Brothers is
going to be a part of that as well," said
Reilly
Bryan, grandson of one of the founders of Bryan
Foods, along with his cousin, Bill Atkins, are
the founders of the 2 Brothers company. Bryan
and Atkins are the third generation of Bryans
keeping the Bryan name popular in the South.
The company, 2 Brothers LLC, is named for John
and W.B. Bryan who in 1936 started the Bryan
Brothers Packing Company, known later as Bryan
Foods. John Bryan's two sons, John Jr. and George
operated Bryan Foods until 1973 when they sold
the company to Sara Lee. John Jr. became the
CEO and brother George remained Vice President
until their retirement a few years ago. Today,
George Bryan endorses his son's new company.
"The sauce is not meant to be used only
on barbeque," explained Wilkes Bryan, "It
is a sauce that can be used as a marinade before
you cook or as a finishing sauce after you cook.
Any way you use it, food prepared with 2 Brothers
tastes great. Our slogans, 'a taste of tradition'
and 'it runs in the family' show our commitment
to quality products such as the ones my father
and grandfather developed during their many
years in the food industry."
